Christmas Book Scavenger Hunt

Bored of the same books on your shelves? Or want to celebrate Christmas/the holidays by doing something bookish? Welcome to the 2024 Christmas Book Scavenger Hunt! This game will be themed not only around Christmas, but my fantasy dragon duology, The Gift of Dragons and The Hope of Dragons.

Now, let’s get dive into this game.

How does the book scavenger hunt work?

From December 1-12, you’ll receive an email each day from me with that day’s prompt (and some kind of fun bookish/The Gift of Dragons/Christmas-y goodie).

The prompt will be a bookish picture that you will take, and each picture will need to be sent to me via email.

All 12 pictures must be emailed to me no later than 8PM EST on Friday, Dec. 13.

Sign-ups close Dec. 1.

Is there a prize?

Yes! The first person to send me all 12 pictures related to the prompts and the name of a fellow fantasy fanatic you shared the scavenger hunt with will win a paperback copy of each of these books:

  • The Gift of Dragons- the first of my YA fantasy duology
  • The Hope of Dragons- the last book of the YA duology
  • Tales From the Forest- Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale retellings by various authors
  • Mystery Fantasy YA book #1
  • Mystery Fantasy YA book #2

How do I win this Book Scavenger Hunt?

By being the first person to send me all 12 pictures related to the prompt along with the name of a
fellow bookish/fantasy nerd* whom you’ve shared the scavenger hunt with (feel free to send them the link to this page 😊).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the same book twice?

No, you cannot use the same book for more than one prompt.

Does the book in the picture have to be mine?

No. Libraries are wonderful places!

When will the winner be announced?

Saturday, Dec. 14 (by email)
The prize will probably be mailed out after Christmas.

Can I participate if I live in another country?

You can still play, but you will be unable to win. Shipping overseas is too pricey at the moment. So sorry. Hopefully in the future!

As a silly question, would taking a picture of an ebook cover that’s pulled up on my reader work?

Yes, it would! Thanks for asking! 🙂
